My father-in-law, Fred, stayed at this facility for rehab recently. He told me the staff, whether it was housekeeping, cnas, nurses, or therapist.., all were very professional, helpful and friendly! He said 'although I hope. never to have to return to a facility again, I would choose this one, if necessary'! Thank you Birchwood!

Dear Residents, Guests and Visitors:
On March 11, 2020, Chittenden County reported its first confirmed case of COVID-19 or the Coronavirus.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has identified that older adults, who have serious chronic medical conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and lung disease, are at highest risk to be affected. For this reason, special attention and focus has been placed on facilities that provide care and services to this vulnerable population.
Effective immediately, Birchwood Terrace is LIMITING ALL VISITATION to residents. Visitation will only be allowed under emergent situations such as end of life care.
We understand that this action will be difficult for families and residents. In lieu of visitation, Birchwood is offering the below alternative means for communication for families:
Additional precautionary measures implemented are as follows:
Residents will have increased Activity and Social Services presence during this time. We will also continue with Deer Oaks clinical services as an additional social and emotional support to our residents throughout this duration.
We thank you in advance for your understanding, patience and cooperation during this sensitive time.
Please visit the CDC website for current Coronavirus information.
