June 26, 2020
Dear Residents, Families, and Friends of Birchwood Terrace,
I hope this letter finds you healthy & safe!
As we continue to navigate through life with COVID-19, we wish to remain transparent with you regarding our current situation. We are happy to announce that the facility became “COVID Free” as on May 28th
, 2020. The facility has been without a newly identified case since April 22nd
. After the last identified patient achieved symptom resolution, the facility completed an additional 14-day period (quarantine) with no additional symptoms were noted. As of June 26, there have been no additional cases. We continue to work closely with the Vermont Department of Health, the CDC, and UVMMC to ensure we are adhering to the most up to date guidance as it relates to prevention and the management of this virus. Everyone is being vigilant with PPE usage and we continuously encourage safe social distancing.
We have begun to schedule outside visitations in accordance with state and federal requirements and guidelines. Please reference the below link regarding visit requirements. Please call 802-863-6384 to coordinate visitation.
We understand that these visits will not be applicable to all residents, as there may be residents who are unable to comply with the guidelines and those with medical conditions that make outside visitation prohibitive. In these instances, any family that would like to arrange for a facetime phone call can either contact the social services department of leave a voice mail at 802-419-2412.
As always, we thank you for your continued support and pray that everyone stays safe and well.
